Arthotel Munich

A one-off hotel marked by rather busy, colourful and designery public spaces (paintings on the walls, oversized objets d'art strewn about, shades of funkiness etc) and 150 compatible rooms with artsy flashes (while not overdone). Prices are not budget, but not outrageous either. Opened in 2012. No gym. Located just south of the Hauptbahnhof (Central Station), close to Theresienwese and Sendlinger Tor U-Bahns — within easy reach of the Glockenbachviertel and its myriad gay offerings, plus NY.Club [see entry] and other central after-dark distractions. Not related to the London/Berlin/Amsterdam/Rome etc art'otel chain.
