Hotel Torbräu

Modern olde-world hotel in dead centre Munich
The Torbräu's been a privately owned hotel since the 16th century, and run by the Kirchlechner family since the early 20th century. Decorated with four stars, it offers 90 rooms, which veer from the modern to the more traditionally luxurious depending on size and price. The handsome exterior is marked by a triple-arch front entrance. To boot it's a short walking distance from nearly everything, including the Glockenbachviertel. But definitely not an option for the budget-minded.
