Oktoberfest-Munich

The world’s biggest beer drinking festival makes plenty of room for the queers. Gay Oktoberfest is known in Germany as Rosa Wiesn, or Pink Fair.

What: The first main event takes place on the first Sunday of Oktoberfest -- known as Gay Sunday in the Bräurosl -- with tens of thousands of gay guys celebrating with loads of German beer. This is the most popular event but not the only gay party that takes place during Oktoberfest. The second Monday is also a big party day. But plan to arrive early: With the amount of people in attendance, tents fill up quickly. Oh, and don't forget your lederhosen!

Where: Gay Oktoberfest goes down in Munich -- and hotels fill up quickly, so you'll want to book a place ASAP. You'll also want to show up to events early and book your event tickets in advance if possible. Some suggestions for hotels include: Bayerischer, Hotel Exquisit, Living Hotel, and Mercure Hotel.
