Schumann's Bar
Stylish and serious, Schumann's is a buzzy, professional and status-savvy bar owned by cocktail impresario Charles Schumann (born Karl Georg Schuhmann in 1941), who ran his American bar in the Maximilianstraße from 1982 until 2002, then moved to the current sizeable location. This warmly lit, wood-panelled and classy Munich institution also features a Mediterranean-style outdoor terrace. Food is modern European and has a very good reputation to match. A nearby offshoot, Tagesbar (Day Bar), opens from 8am at Maffeistraße 6. Closed Saturday.
