A nice place serving rather modern take on traditional German classics, from schnitzel, Weißwurst (white sausage) and biergulasch to things served with Schufpnudeln, Spätzle and potatoes. And veggie burgers too. Previously a very pricey establishment, this Wirtshaus has reinvented itself with less alienating prices, notably at lunch with a fixed-price bargain, popular with locals, builders and tourists alike. Also of note is its outdoor beer garden. Located just south of the Viktualienmarkt, very close to the bar Prosecco [see entry], and popular for some as a pre-clubbing stopover.
